- That this Synod desires to place on record its sense of gratitude to the Most Reverend L.R. Sherman, Archbishop of Rupert's Land for his able, inspiring and dynamic leadership during the period of his Chairmanship of the Budget Committee. As its first Chairman, he did much to inaugurate the principles of goodwill and consultation which have been largely instrumental in securing steadily increasing response from our Dioceses towards the work of the three Boards. Under his inspiration, we are aware of a growing sense of stewardship among our clergy and people. His Chairmanship has brought the work of the church to a degree of financial security and strength which it has never before enjoyed.
- The General Synod wishes to go on record as appreciating to the fullest degree his work as Chairman of the Budget Committee and as rejoicing in the fact the Committee is to continue to have the benefit of his presence and counsel as Honorary Chairman of that Committee. CARRIED by Standing Vote in both Houses.
