That the recommendation from the Board of Finance reading, "The Board has approved a provision that air travel will be permitted, if required, for all members of the National Executive Council to attend the Fredericton meetings" be approved. CARRIED

The General Secretary suggested and it was agreed that the Archbishop of Canterbury's itinerary for his Canadian visit in August should be appended to these minutes.
That this NEC recommends the use of a single travel agency and, primarily a single airline for use by all members of General Synod, the National Execeutive Council, all Standing Committees and subsidiary bodies and National Office staff, beginning September 1, 1992.

That this NEC refer the above motion (and comments) back to the General Secretary and Treasurer for further consideration and report to NEC in November 1992. CARRIED #03-03-92
a) appoint All Destinations Travel, Vancouver, as travel agent for air travel for the 1995 meeting of General Synod;
b) encourage Synod members to use the central booking agency for air reservations;
c) advise Synod members choosing to make their own bookings for air travel that they will be reimbursed up to the "H" class rate from the airport nearest to their community;
d) request members from the dioceses of Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Ontario, Toronto, Huron, Niagara and Algoma to travel by land, except with the approval of the General Secretary;
e) require members travelling by land to use the most economical means, such as carpools, bus and/or train, and notify them that reimbursement for land travel will not exceed the cost of an "H" class airfare from the nearest airport;
f) advise members that travel discounts of 30% are available from VIA Rail for Travel in Quebec/Windsor corridor from May 27 to June 14, 1995. CARRIED #09-11-94
