THAT the following words be added to Section 5 of Canon XX:
`In the event of the said bishop or his successor refusing to terminate such relinquishment and reinstate the priest (or deacon), the said priest (or deacon) may appeal to the Metropolitan of the Province who shall take the necessary Canonical action.
The Interim Director, Archbishop G.F.C. Jackson presented the report. He advised members that the Profile Form had been completed and was being sent to the Dioceses and that he was hopeful the Job Description Form would be ready by September.
That the report of the Interim Director of the Office of Personnel Resources be received. CARRIED
A discussion followed on the concerns felt be some members regarding the plans for the Office for Personnel Resources related to computer and other costs, that the data gathered would be confidential and whether the human needs of church workers could be filled in the manner suggested by the report.
The Primate reported that his advisory committee had been Archbishop Jackson, Mr. T. Kober, Mr. G. Davy and Archdeacon Light and that he wished to enlarge the Committee to include the Rev. D. Woeller and a representative from each of the Ecclesiastical Provinces.
In the light of the discussion, the Primate asked for a "straw vote" as to whether discussion should be carried over to the October meeting of NEC. The vote indicated that this was the wish of the majority of members.
Bishop Burch expressed a vote of thanks to the Archbishop [Jackson] of Qu'Appelle for the splendid work he had done as Interim Director.
