Prologue: Ms. Hanna Goschy, Treasurer, presented the budget for 2015 for the Council’s consideration. She described the budgeting process and outlined the planning and revenue assumptions for 2015 with an emphasis on the conservative nature of the budget.; She briefing explained the history of proportional giving which has been in steady decline since 1992 with some leveling of after 2008 and noted the decline in undesignated legacies received since 2008.; In response to a query about the review of assets of the MSCC [Missionary Society of the Anglican Church of Canada], she explained that research is underway on identifying the endowments and their direction and expected to last several months. The Chancellor will review the findings from a legal perspective. A report back to CoGS will not be ready until the November 2015 meeting.

Prologue: The Primate was in the chair. Members agreed to adjourn the meeting of the Council of General Synod and to convene as the member of the Anglican Journal Board.; Bishop George Elliott, Chair of the Anglican Journal Board, presented an update on the Anglican Journal. It is facing financial challenges. The Board is engaged in preparing a five-year business plan, developing a media strategy and strategies to increase revenue. He reported that the results of a readership survey conducted at General Synod were positive.; Bishop Elliott reported that the Anglican Journal Board was reviewing its status as a separately incorporated body and would present a report to the spring meeting of COGS.; Ms. Michèle George reviewed the Anglican Journal 2009 Financial Statements; (Doc. 17-12-10-11) and responded to questions.
