This thesis looks at the issue of how far has the phenomenon of large numbers of women joining the ranks of the clergy diminished the social status of the clerical profession, as well as the obstacles women continue to face.
"This is a densely written polemic against the religious broadcasting policies of the Independent Broadcasting Authority in the years leading up to the deregulation of the airwaves. .... what the authors are really on about is the long Evangelical grievance over the reluctance of the IBA and the BBC to broadcast aggressively evangelistic programmes".
"Do Anglican Catholics have anything to day about evangelism, or is that the sole prerogative of Evangelicals ? These were the topics that concerned the Third National Affirming Catholicism Conference, whose questions and conclusions are set out in this book." -- back cover.

A collection of essays by 45 authors, this book "is published at the request of the Church's Archbishops both to stimulate the initiatives in evangelism already underway and, as important, to raise evangelism above and beyond the decade concept. The book is first and foremost a platform for both Archbishops to share their own visions, concerns and convictions. The substance of the volume is, however, made up of shorter contributions from more than thirty individuals who have first-hand experience of evangelism in a particular area of the Church's ministry" -- back cover.
