That this National Executive Council asks the Officers of General Synod to explore methods of financing the Task Force on Canadian Unity and that they appoint the nucleus of this Task Force in consultation with the Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee. CARRIED
That it be recommended to General Synod that the Trust Deed of the Archbishop Owen Memorial Fund, dated October 25, 1953, be rescinded, and that the new Trust Deed be approved. CARRIED
That the $18,650.17 of income accumulated at December 31, 1979 in the scholarship or bursary section of the Archbishop Owen Memorial Fund be made available to the General Synod Bursary Unit for scholarships or bursaries to students in any of the Theological Colleges of the Anglican Church of Canada, according to rules, regulations and conditions fixed by the General Synod Bursary Unit. CARRIED

Concern was expressed for students who are to serve in "missionary dioceses," and it was agreed that the General Secretary convey this concern to the Bursary Unit.
That the National Executive Council condemns in strongest terms the continued massive Soviet military intervention and repression in Afghanistan. National Executive Council calls on the Canadian Government to make every peaceful effort to protest the Soviet presence in Afghanistan and calls on the Soviet Union to withdraw its troops immediately from Afghanistan. CARRIED
Dr. L.L. Whytehead, Chairman of the PWRDF, presented the report. He gave a brief outline of the work of the Committee and that of the two sub-committees, Allocations and Development Education.
There was discussion regarding the allocation of funds to the P.C.R. which is still causing concern. The General Secretary read two letters expressing this concern.
The Primate stated, that if it is considered advisable, the National Executive Council may change decisions made by PWRDF. Discussion followed concerning the distribution of details of PWRDF grants and it was suggested that quarterly reports might be published in the Canadian Churchman.
