Notes
"Printed by: D'Cysam Printing Services, Manila". -- verso of t.-p.
In English with some text in Tagalog.
"This booklet serves as a culminating project of several past meetings and gatherings (national and regional conferences) and initiated by the IFI with the Concordat cooperation of the Lutheran Church of Sweden. The very idea of the booklet was born out of initial brainstorming in the Visayan regional conference of 2005. Some papers in this booklet were presented in the past women clergy gatherings, including those delivered in the 2006 conference at the Aglipay Central Theological Seminary (ACTS)". -- Foreword.
This book "mirrors the spiritual courage of women priests and shares the beauty of womanhood. Reading through the pages of this booklet gives us a glimpse of how far we have gone in giving due recognition to the notable contributions of our women priests in the life, work and witness of the Church. It also enables one to see the struggles and aspirations, sacrifices and hopes of the women clergy in their concerted effort to fulfill their vocation amidst questions of capabilities and gender biases. Their stories speak of how they have prevailed over the unwelcoming attitude that greeted them a decade ago and how their ministry has enriched the Iglesia Filipina Independiente making the Church more responsive with the ever-growing challenge of doing mission". -- Intro.
"In February 2007, the Iglesia Filipina Independiente had approximately 630 ordained priests". p. 83. Directory lists 22 women priests, 2 women deacons and 2 sisters.
