He graduated from the world's most northerly clergy training school, 20 miles from the Arctic Circle, on Baffin Island. The Arthur Turner Training School, Pangnirtung, established by the Anglican Church of Canada, in 1970, trains Inuit candidates for the ministry. Abelie and three other graduates will be ordained by the Most Rev. G.F.C. Jackson who is Metropolitan of the Anglican province of Rupert's Land and Archbishop of Qu'Appelle diocese.
