Resolved, 4. That in the matter of the formation of a new Diocese of the Chung Hwa [sic Hua] Sheng Kung Hui out of the present Diocese of Honan, the Church of England in Canada would require that before any official action is taken by the Church in China, the Church in Canada should be consulted concerning the contemplated action.
Resolved, That Recognizing that the primary responsibility for the religious training of our boys and girls must always rest upon the home, this Synod would emphasize strongly the necessity of constantly impressing upon parents their duty in this matter, and would request that every assistance be given to the Board of Education in its efforts to secure that co-operation in the home without which the work of the Sunday School cannot be fully successful.
Resolved, That a very hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the Chairman of the G.B.R.E., Rev. Dr. Rexford, for the excellent work he has done for so many years on the Board of Religious Education.
Resolved, 1. That this General Synod of the Church of England in China in session assembled sends cordial greetings to Chung Hwa [sic Hua] Sheng Kung Hui recognizing it to be a duly organized Church in communion with the Church of England in Canada and the Diocese of Honan to be an integral part of that National Church Organization.
Resolved, That the question of pensioning a cretain [sic certain] class of Lay Workers who have given long periods of service to the Church, especially in the Missionary Dioceses, should be referred for consideration to the Committee on Beneficiary Funds.
Resolved, That, the Upper House concurring, the General Synod of the Church of England in Canada extend to the Jewish people throughout the world its profound sympathy in view of the present world situation respecting that ancient race. That the General Synod has an adequate sense of the great debt that the world owes to the Jewish people for their contribution to human knowledge in the realms of Science, Literature and Religion. Above all, it would acknowledge with deep thankfulness that that great treasury of revealed truth, the Old Testament Scriptures, was given and preserved through the instrumentality of the Jewish people; and it is ever mindful of the profound significance of the fact that Jesus Christ, our acknowledged Lord and Saviour, was, after the flesh, the Son of David. It deprecates as being a denial of the principles of Christianity, and therefore abhorent to Christian people, the ill-treatment of Jews, or any other people by nations, communities or individuals, on account of their race or religion. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Chief Rabbi of the Jews in Canada. MESSAGE NN.
Moved by Archdeacon Scott, seconded by Canon Murray,
