That the current Anglican Church of Canada representatives on Commissions, Subcommittees and the Governing Board of the Canadian Council of Churches be asked to extend their term until the next triennial assembly in May 2003. CARRIED #33-05-00
That the Council of General Synod urge the government of Canada, and specifically the Office of Indian Residential Schools Resolution, to take seriously the concerns raised by Aboriginal Peoples as it designs its alternative dispute resolution processes and the accompanying releases. CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY #27-05-03

The resolution and the fact that it was carried unanimously will be conveyed to Mario Dion (who has replaced Jack Stagg as Deputy Minister of the Office of Indian Residential Schools Resolution.)
That the Council recommends to General Synod that section 33(a)(vi) of the Constitution be amended to read:
vi) one youth member of the General Synod from each ecclesiastical province to be elected by the General Synod on the nomination of the members of the Orders of Bishops, Clergy and Laity from each ecclesiastical province meeting together, provided that no ecclesiastical province may make more than one nomination;
and that section 33(f)(ii) of the Constitution be amended to read:
(ii) in the case of a member elected under the provisions of subsection 33(a)(vi), be filled by the Prolocutor, in consultation with the appropriate metropolitan, provided that the person so named shall be a youth member of the General Synod from the same ecclesiastical province as that to which the former member of the Council belonged at the time of his or her election to the Council. That if the proposed amendments to the Constitution regarding the election of youth members of the Council of General Synod is passed by General Synod the following amendments to Appendix G will automatically come into effect for use at General Synod 2001:
Amend Appendix G by striking out 1.q)
and add to the end of Appendix G 1.a) "A diocese may also nominate its youth member for election to the Council"
and amend Appendix G 1.e) to read: A chart shall be posted listing by diocese the nominees from each of the three Orders.
and amend Appendix G 1.o) to read:
When the prescribed number of nominations of persons from the three Orders resident in the ecclesiastical province has been achieved, the meeting shall vote by ballot on the youth member nominees. The youth member receiving the greatest number of votes shall be deemed selected. The chairperson shall declare the business concluded and report to the chairperson of the General Synod Nominating Committee. CARRIED #62-03-01

Comment - It needs to be made clear to Provincial Caucuses that youth delegates are still eligible for youth or lay membership on COGS.
That section 14 or Canon III - The Primacy - be amended to read as follows:
14. The financial needs of the Primacy shall be met first from the income of any capital fund designated for such purpose and, second, from the proportional gifts made by the Dioceses. CARRIED IN ALL ORDERS Act 12
