That this National Executive Council direct the Officers of the General Synod as soon as possible to make definite plans for the celebration of the centenary of the formation of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada, to be observed at the 1992 General Synod. CARRIED #29-11-88
Archbishop Walter Jones presented the report and called upon Archdeacon Gordon Hendra to present "the pronouncement of Algoma" to Archbishop John Bothwell for the Diocese of Algoma.
Archdeacon Harry Hilchey spoke to the written report of the Museums Policy Tasks Force, which was established by the National Executive Council in May 1987. The major work of the committee included identification of Anglican heritage sites and development of an inventory of artifacts.
That this National Executive Council urge each diocese, cathedral and parish to maintain an accurate record of its material heritage. This record should include a statement of ownership, the names of creators, dates of creation, and the dates of gifts or acquistions. CARRIED #07-03-89
The Primate, as President of the House, presented the report and outlined the recommendations.
That this National Executive Council authorize the Primate to take the necessary steps as soon as possible to have the Report on Abortion, following minor revisions, printed in an appropriate form and made available to the church and the Canadian public. CARRIED #49-11-88
That the National Executive Council approve (at a retroactive cost of $83,164.20) the reinstatement as of December 1, 1984, of pension benefits which were terminated prior to November 30, 1984, for six spouses who had remarried; and that these persons be given the option of receiving their retroactive payments in the most advantageous manner.
