"At the heart of John's story of the feeding of the multitude is Jesus' thanksgiving over the loaves. The, after the crowd has been fed, John adds a word not found in the other gospels: Jesus says to the disciples, 'Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing may be lost' (John 6:12). The fragments are precious. Broken life is precious". "Jesus' birth took place in Bethlehem, which means 'house of bread'. And he was laid in a manger, a feeding place. Jesus came as bread. God knew how hungry the world was, and is. In the dark and hostile place (where there was no room), a loving God offered the bread of life. When we seek to follow him, we discover that our following takes us into every broken place where people are hungry for bread, for peace, for freedom, for spirit". "This Thanksgiving, remember that in Christ you are living bread. Remember, too, the fragments. Love finds a way on the rocky hillsides of our lives, gathers us in and holds us forever in God's hands".

"In 1988 when the World Council of Churches proclaimed the Ecumenical Decade of Churches in Solidarity with Women in Church and Society, some women in Canada came together to consider how they could support, encourage, and assist involvement across Canada and throughout the denominations in what the World Council declared as the aims of the Decade .... In January 1990, this group appointed a committee to produce a book of worship resources, meditations, and devotional material written by women across Canada. It wanted a book that would be ecumenical in nature, that would provide an opportunity for women to express their faith, and that would reflect through a variety of topics, the experience of women's lives across Canada. The contributions chosen by the committee come from women in nine provinces and in seven denomination: Anglican, Baptist, Disciples of Christ, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, and United Church". -- Preface.

80 reflections and appreciations on the life and career of Archbishop Michael Peers, Eleventh Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada (1986-2004), divided into 14 sections.
"This book celebrates the ministry of ... Michael Geoffrey Peers, the eleventh primate of our beloved church. It is a wonderful collection of memoirs happily offered by members of Michael's family, partners in parish ministry, colleagues in episcopal ministry, friends from around the Anglican Communion, and co-workers in the ecumenical movement. Together they are a profound testament to the sharpness of mind, generosity of spirit, and grace of demeanour for which Michael is held with such deep respect and genuine affection" -- Foreword.
