That the National Executive Council recommend to the Agenda Task Force that the Administration and Finance Committee seek time in small groups in General Synod for discussion of commitment and stewardship. CARRIED
The Primate reported that the House of Bishops had reviewed the report of the Joint Program/Administration and Finance Task Force on Funding National Goals.
That NEC concur with the following recommendation from the House of Bishops:
"That this House give general approval to Section 2 of the statement of the Task Force in response to discussions about the role of the Church in the North and overseas and that the National Executive Council agree in principle and requests the Task Force to report back to NEC in February 1974." CARRIED
The Venerable E.K. Clarke, Chairman of the Committee reported.
a) Archdeacon Clarke mentioned the since 1969 the number of staff persons in the Program area had been reduced from 69 to 42. He reviewed some of the areas of work considered by the Committee including (i) Block Grants for World Mission (ii) A.C.W. President's Conference (iii) Role and Status of Women in the Church (iv) Native Affairs Sub-Committee (v) Public Social Responsibility Unit (vi) Rural Ministry Task Force (vii) Staffing.
(b) Council on the North
Archbishop Jackson spoke briefly to the Report of the Council on the North.
That the report of the Council on the North be received. CARRIED
This report will be included in the Convening Circular for General Synod. The financial statement of the Council was received.
