That this National Executive Council approves the recommendation of the National Steering Committee of Anglicans in Mission regarding the distribution of $5,000,000 Pension Supplement in the National Case as follows:
The National Case of Anglicans in Mission includes $5,000,000 designated to supplement the pensions of Church workers who are not receiving the full benefits of the Canada Pension Plan; this amount to include supplements in the Dioceses of Niagara and Montreal who are not members of the General Synod Pension Plan.
On the recommendation of the Anglicans in Mission Case Committee and the General Synod Pension Committee, the National Director of Anglicans in Mission has been in consultation with the representatives of the Dioceses of Niagara and Montreal in an attempt to find a formula, agreed upon by the interested parties, for the distribution of the $5,000,000 fund.
The Diocese of Niagara has proposed that the amount of Anglicans in Mission funds to be returned to that diocese for pension purposes be $176,000. This amount is equal to one-third of one-quarter of $2,119,000 which is the Diocesan Accepted Share of the National Goal.
The Diocese of Montreal has proposed that $260,000 of Anglicans in Mission funds be returned to that diocese for pension purposes. This figure is 5.22% of the $5,000,000 National Pension Supplement Goal, and Montreal's Accepted Share is 5.22% of the National Goal of $20,000,000.
The recommended distribution of the $5,000,000 Pension Supplement is as follows:
General Synod Pension Fund........$4,564,000
Diocese of Montreal Pension Fund.. 260,000
Diocese of Niagara Pension Fund... 176,000
..................................$5,000,000
