Publishing history: The Peace Messenger was established in 1933 as the Diocese of Athabasca newspaper. In 1980 they joined with the Diocese of Edmonton adding the Edmonton Anglican to their publication. In 1984, they changed the name to Anglican Messenger, still published jointly by the Diocese of Athabasca and the Diocese of Edmonton. In 2000 the name changed to The Messenger.
