That COGS revisit its decision on broadcasting General Synod 2001, and that in light of escalating costs for that event, as well as the over-all financial situation depicted in the 2001 budget, that one of the other options be considered. CARRIED #10-11-00
That the Major and Planned Gifts Policy as approved by Financial Management and Development Committee become the policy of the Anglican Church of Canada. CARRIED #15-11-00
That the Council of General Synod send greetings to the National Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and express its thanks and appreciation to the National Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada for its expression of concern and solidarity with the Anglican Church of Canada. That this General Synod commends the following motion to General Synod:
That this General Synod direct the Council of General Synod to initiate and oversee a process of intentional listening to the church in the dioceses and parishes regarding the future life and work of the Anglican Church of Canada, with on-going monitoring during the next triennium, and recommendation for future planning to come to General Synod 2004. Chancellor Stevenson provided clarification. If this motion passes at General Synod, General Synod would be saying that an address to parishes would be appropriate because diocesan representatives had approved it.
The Planning and Agenda Team offered to prepare a "clarity piece" that would provide background for the motions. The Nominating Committee was tasked with putting together a small group of Council members, who are members of General Synod, to work on the presentation
