- During the discussion of Resolution 2 of the Organization Committee, members were reminded that General Synod had requested a study of Canonical amendments which would be required in order to effect a Plan of Union (Act 60). The General Secretary advised that the Task Force conducting the study would report to NEC at its October meeting through the Organization Committee.

- "This Organization Committee urges that NEC give its assurance to the Dioceses that it considers that before any Plan of Union is approved or adopted by General Synod, ample opportunity will be given to the membership of the Church through the dioceses to consider the plan, and be involved in consultation and decision."

- Archdeacon Light reported that the General Council of the United Church will be holding a meeting in August 1972.

- That Resolution 7 of the Organization Committee,
- that the Organization Committee recommends to NEC that General Synod meet at a time approximating the meeting of General Council in 1972, subject to reconsideration in the event that the General Council should reconsider and meet in 1973, with the recommendation that this be pursued with the United Church of Canada,
- be referred back to the Organization Committee for reconsideration. CARRIED

- THAT the General Synod offer a statement of mission and commend its use in the Church:
- 1. the Mission for Christians is to offer to God the worship which is his due;
- 2. to make known to all men the Gospel of Jesus Christ;
- 3. to live out that Gospel by mutual concern and fellowship for one another across the world.
