- Be it resolved that the members of this Council of General Synod encourage the consideration of the resolution on the Marriage Canon (A051-R2) in accord with the provision in the Declaration of Principles “that between first and second reading the matter be referred for consideration to diocesan and provincial synods.”

- MARRIAGE CANON RESPONSE CONTINUED
- The Rev. Canon David Burrows, a member of the Resolutions Committee, presented a resolution in relation to the Marriage Canon and the discussion that occurred during the Marriage Canon Response presentation. Canon Burrows explained the motion is specific with timelines to ensure a report back can be provided to CoGS by November 1, 2018 in order for further discussions and deliberations to occur prior to the forty-five days required for the meeting of the General Synod. Discussion ensued on the motion with amendments made.

- Be it resolved that regarding the Second Reading of Resolution A051-R2 (Amendment to Canon XXI) On Marriage in the Church, this Council of General Synod:
- 1. Request the Primate and Prolocutor communicate with the Metropolitans and Provincial Prolocutors, and Diocesan Bishops and Synods and encourage full consideration of the matter be given prior to General Synod 2019.
- 2. Request that the consideration given shall be reported to the Council of General Synod no later than November 1, 2018.
