The Acting General Secretary Vianney (Sam) Carriere read into the minutes the results of the electronic balloting which ended on December 4, 2009.
RESOLVED that the Council of General Synod deplores the Canadian International Development Agency’s decision to end its funding for KAIROS, and in consideration of the vital work carried out by KAIROS in many troubled parts of the world on behalf of Canadian church members, urges the federal government to reconsider this decision. CARRIED #02-03-10
That the Council of General Synod ask the Philanthropy Committee to draft a recommendation to the Council of General Synod on the issue of how and when recommendations based on feasibility studies might be considered and bring their recommendations to the November 2010 meeting of Council.

That the Council of General Synod authorize the Primate, in consultation with the National Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and the co-chairs of the Joint Anglican Lutheran Commission, to explore the possibility of establishing a Joint National Office in Ottawa and to take such steps necessary to explore the costs and other implications of such a move.
That General Synod affirms the authority and jurisdiction of any Diocesan Synod with the concurrence of their Diocesan Bishop to make a decision whether to proceed with the blessing of committed same sex unions within their diocese or jurisdictional context.
Consensus was not reached regarding this proposal.
